5) How did you attract/address your audience?

My magazine is writen in the type of language that they would understand as they are quite young so it is simple and not too complex. To get into the mind of a teenager wasnt too difficult because i am on myself, but i used catchy lines i didnt used slang as i thought it would be a bit too parrot like of other magazines and i wanted mine to look more unique. To get over some of the words and points in my magazine i have used exclamation marks to really exagerate what is said, this would also get teenagers attention more because it is seen as a more serious statment or quote. I think that i have used language in a way that really speaks to the audience as sometimes its telling them directly. I would like my magazine to have a sort of friendly apperance to the reader as i feel that this is the best way to relate to a teenager, but also i would like to show that they can turn to the magazine for advice like with people asking the ask aggie personal questions that might have an effect on different females. Like the coverlines really get over what younge teenagers are into like fashion, bands and new celebrity gossip. I have also added the bright colours to that text to help get over the younger audience that it is aimed at. I think that my writing style is easy too understand yet till gets over the point in a sophisticated way as female teenagers tend to act more mature then their age. I have used the same colour as i have used on my front cover thoughout my magazine this really helps get over the young them as it is bright and bold. Also the way that i have shot my magazine images for my front cover really helps get over the personal feel to it as its big and catchy this also might help the magazine sell as teenagers will feel that they can relate to it. I have also shot my models in everyday relax clothing to emphasise the way that the magazine can really relate to the target audience.I like the way that i have included my masthead from the front cover of my magazine into the different sections of the magazine so that reader gets over how important it is to keep buying the magazine as it reminds them of its name. I also think that using all types of music presented in the magazine itself helps get over all different ranges of target audiences. By adding advertising such as tampons, sweets deoderants etc really helps its selling point as a potential buyer could think that they could really get a better knowledge of being a teenager. I think that the unique selling point of my magazine is the masthead as it is really bold, bright and most of all its really catchy. Also its something that could be remembered, as its a kind of play on words to do with music. I think that what makes it so noticable is the colours and the brightness of the magazine itself as it doesnt look boring its quite busy.

  1. There is no such word as safisticated. Do you mean sophisticated? To answer this question well you must consider your cover and how it will be attractive to your target audience at point of sale through its colours and also through its choice of contents to advertise with the cover lines. Then you should consider your language in more detail. Have you used slang? Have you used lots of exclamation marks to suggest excitement? Have you used lots of second person pronouns to talk directly to the reader? What sort of implied relationship does your writing wants to establish with the reader? Is it trying to be a best friend? Or a sympathetic older sister who you can turn to for advice? Or an authoritative experts on music? Try to explain by giving examples of the language you have used.
